McCarthy-Sessing Takes Morgan County Job

The Morgan County Economic Development Corporation, Mooresville, announced Tuesday that McCarthy-Sessing will become the group's new executive director.
McCarthy-Sessing has been with both the chamber and KDI since Jan. 1, 1998.[[In-content Ad]]"The county's leadership has taken positive steps to enhance the Morgan County economy, and I am excited to be a part of that effort," McCarthy-Sessing said in a news release.
While the Chamber of Commerce has been in the area since 1904, KDI is a fairly recent venture.
Established in 1984, KDI's mission is to promote economic and community development in Kosciusko County.
Her last day is Dec. 30. while her last day in the office will be Dec. 15.
"My passion is economic development work and this gives me the opportunity to do that full time," said McCarthy-Sessing.
A native of suburban Minneapolis and a graduate University of Minnesota, McCarthy-Sessing said she is more proud of her degree from the economic development institute at the University of Oklahoma.
McCarthy-Sessing is a certified economic developer since 1985. That certification requires a renewal every three years.
"It's been an interesting and challenging time, I hit the ground running since I came here and never stopped," said McCarthy-Sessing of her time in the area.
"We've done innovative and interesting things... we've introduced new programs through the years," she said citing among other things the development of the Young Adult Professionals program.
"It's been an interesting and challenging time and I wish my predecessors luck to go on and be very successful. I'll miss the area however the opportunity to do my passion 100 percent of the time is something I am looking forward to.
Morgan County is southwest of Marion County.
McCarthy-Sessing said she considers Indianapolis her Indiana hometown after spending 12 years working in the statehouse.
