NORTH MANCHESTER - Max K. Bucher, 76, of North Manchester, died at 8:45 p.m. Nov. 23, 2007, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Servia, to Galen A. and Viola K. Kreider Bucher. On May 26, 1951, he married Elizabeth Ann Gump, who died June 23, 1994.

He was a farmer and retired from Container Corp., Wabash, after 41 years. He attended the former Servia United Church of Christ, and was a 1950 Chester High School graduate.

Surviving are two sons, Merle D. Bucher, Las Cruces, N.M., and Gary Bucher, Silver Lake; three daughters: Debra Cramer, Elkhart; Connie Pritchett, Silver Lake; and Ann Bucher, Urbana; two sisters, Doris Marburger, North Manchester, and Linda Martin, Fairmount; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
