Recently, with great reluctance, Kosciusko County Right to Life accepted the resignation from a very respected and appreciated board member. Mary Louise Lowe, known to all of us as "Louise," was one of the founding members of Kosciusko County Right to Life in 1973. Since then she has been a great example of what a pro-life person should be.

I had the privilege of working with Louise beginning in 1990 when my wife and I joined Right to Life. She always had a positive and encouraging attitude as the group worked together to save unborn babies and help their mothers choose life. As the organization grew throughout the '90s and 2000s she continued to be an important part of that growth. Whether it was coordinating the decorating and staffing of our annual fair booth, selling ads for the banquet program booklet, sitting out on the sidewalk at Planned Parenthood for the 40 Days for Life Campaign (just to list a few of the ways she has been involved), Louise has worked tirelessly for the pro-life movement here in Kosciusko County. She has been a great example of leading by doing.

Louise was always open to any ideas that would help to expand KCRTL and its efforts to promote the value of all human life. As new ideas were considered over the many years of her involvement it would have been very easy for her to have said, "We have never done that before" or "We've always done it this way." Instead, she looked at the changes as a way to improve the ministry of Kosciusko County Right to Life.

I am sure there are many alive today because of her work. Louise's involvement on the board will be greatly missed but we are thankful that she isn't resigning from everything related to KCRTL. She plans to continue to be involved, but in a limited way.

Louise, thanks for the legacy of life you have given Kosciusko County Right to Life and our community.
