NORTH MANCHESTER – Mary L. “Sue” Burgess, 75, of North Manchester, died at 8:26 p.m. Sept. 30, 2011, in Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

She was born April 2, 1936, in Clinton County, Ill., to David and Mildred Vance Taylor. On May 21, 1954, she married James Andrew Burgess, who died June 17, 2003.

She was a homemaker and certified nursing assistant at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, for 27 years. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, North Manchester.

Surviving are four sons: Doug (and spouse Cherie) Burgess and Mike (and Trisha Hockemeyer) Burgess, all of Fort Wayne; Dan (and spouse Connie) Burgess, North Manchester; and Dave (and spouse Dee) Burgess, Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Pam (and spouse Wayne) Fisher, Zionsville; four brothers: Bob (and spouse Geneva) Taylor, Don (and spouse Karen) Taylor, Harold (and spouse Judy) Taylor and Tom (and spouse Sue) Taylor, all of Goshen; two sisters, Joan (and spouse Wendell) Clifton, DeLand, Ill., and Judy Frieby, Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christian Fellowship Church, North Manchester, with Pastor Eddie Akins officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
