Mary Jane “Molly” Sprong, 89,  Warsaw, passed away at 9 a.m. Dec. 24, 2015, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Wabash, to Melvin Judd and Ruth Lucille Beaver Gillard.
She was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
As a nurse, with 45 years of service, she was employed by McDonald Hospital of Warsaw from 1947 to 1949; Alfran/Mason’s Nursing Home, Warsaw, from 1960 to 1991; The Oaks Nursing Home, Columbia City, from 1991 to 1995; and then entered private nursing, serving numerous local families from 1995 to 2003, retiring in 2003. She was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Winona Lake.
Survivors include four daughters: Patricia Colene McIlroy (and spouse Brad) Smith, Plainfield; Kathryn Ruth McIlroy (and spouse Jerry) Sainer, Houston, Texas; Margaret Lee McIlroy, Warsaw; and Joan Martha Sprong (and companion David Sloan) Parker, Warsaw; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Rob Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral chapel  Tuesday.
