Mary Jane Foster, 88, died at 11 p.m. Jan. 26, 2010, in The Oaks, Columbia City.

She was born Feb. 3, 1921, in Atwood, to Floyd C. and Hazel Creighton Harman. On Sept. 19, 1942, in Atwood, she married Almon B. Foster, who died Nov. 20, 1985.

A lifetime Atwood and Warsaw resident, she worked at the Warsaw License Branch for 25 years, retiring in 1997. She was a 1939 graduate of Atwood High School. She enjoyed gardening, working crossword puzzles, traveling - she followed the sun. She loved her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Terry (and spouse Maxine) Foster, Bristol; three daughters, Carolyn (and spouse Robert) Holbrook and Judy Scott, all of Warsaw, and Alana (and spouse Joe) Gochenour, Clarksville, Tenn; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ted (and spouse Bonnie) Harman. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay E. Bryant, who died Nov. 16, 1996, and two brothers, Donny Harman, who died in 1935, and an infant brother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor E. J. Underwood of Warsaw Community Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
