She was born Jan. 25, 1926, in New Paris, to John and Cecil Strycker Knisley. On Aug. 18, 1945, she married Robert Byrd, who survives.
She was a lifelong area resident and retired from Dana Corp.
Also surviving are a son, Jerry (and spouse Glenda) Byrd, Syracuse; three daughters, Sheryll (and spouse Dave) Rieder, Birchwood, Wis., and Brenda Byrd and Rhonda (and spouse Scott) Green, all of Muncie; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Glen and Kenny Knisley, both of Syracuse, and Donald Knisley, Syracuse.
Services will be private.
