Mary Elizabeth Besson, 93, Leesburg, passed away March 12, 2016, in her residence.
She was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Bourbon, to George and Fannie Miller Watkins. On June 1, 1944, in Bourbon, she was united in marriage to Russell Dale Besson, who preceded her in death June 2, 2000.
She was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident. She was member of Clunette United Methodist Church.
She formerly served as secretary to Lester Davis at the Atwood and Warsaw Freshman High schools. She retired from the Kosciusko County Social Services Department.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (and spouse Janice) Besson, Centerville, Ohio, and Thomas (and spouse Cindy) Besson, Nappanee; a daughter, Carol Besson, Leesburg; four grandchildren: Bradley, Michelle, Blaine and Todd; five great-grandchildren: Russell, Caroline, William, Arianna and Ryder; and a sister, Jayne Neff, Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Devoe and Robert; two sisters, Helen and Maxine; and a grandchild, Curt.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Mike Beezley officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
