Mary E. Cecil, 93, formerly of Winona Lake, went to be with her Lord at 1:50 a.m. Sept. 27, 2013, in Wood Haven Health Care, Bowling Green, Ohio.
She was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Des Lacs, N.D., to John and Sarah Varnes Soltis. On Feb. 5, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, she married Walter R. Cecil, who preceded her in death Sept. 18, 2008.
She was a pastor’s wife, and worked as a personnel coordinator and licensed nursing home administrator. She supported mission work around the world, and she had a passion to play Scrabble. She was formerly a resident of Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, and a past member of Pleasant View Bible Church, Warsaw.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Marcia Hochhalter, Abbotsford, Wis., and Cindy (and spouse Sam) Baker, Bainbridge; two sons, Dave (and spouse Rachel) Cecil, Findlay, Ohio, and Dan Cecil, Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandsons. She also was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Dave Cecil. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
