ROCHESTER – Mary E. Beasley, 82, North Manchester, and formerly of Akron, passed away at 11:48 a.m. June 12, 2014, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born April 26, 1932, in Columbia City, to Charles Wilbur and Mildred Elizabeth Gay Jennings. On Aug. 22, 1953, in Whitley County, she married Henry Guy Beasley, who preceded her in death May 23, 1985. She retired from Hart, Schaffner and Marx, Rochester, after over 40 years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, quilting and flowers. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family and preparing for all the family gatherings over the years. Surviving are five daughters: Janice (and spouse Jerry) Dimmick, Coldwater, Mich.; Loretta Barnes, Riverside, Calif.; Nancy (and spouse Jim) Mooney, Rochester; Deb (and spouse Jerry) Baumgartner, Mentone; and Linda (and spouse Steve) Backus, Akron; two sons: Tom (and spouse Ande) Huntley, Phoenix, Ariz., and Jeff Beasley (and companion Pam Rhines) Mentone; 18 grandchildren: Greg and Kevin Dimmick, both of Huntington; Kim McGlothin, Shari Rudd, Eric Backus and Jeff and John Mooney, all of Rochester; Neil and Michael Hunley, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; Scott and Wes Backus, both of Akron; Carrie Covey, Coldwater, Mich.; Ty Barnes, Riverside, Calif.; Richie Barnes, Somerset, Ky.; Chris Huntley, Churubusco; Ryan Baumgartner, Bargersville; Autumn Kindig, Mentone; and Austin Beasley, Tippecanoe; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchilren; a sister, Janet (and spouse Fred) Shatzer, Prescott, Ariz.; a brother, Harry (and spouse Jan) Jennings, Prescott, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded by her parents; a son, Steve Huntley; a granddaughter, Kendra Beasley; a brother, Wilbur Jennings; and a son-in-law, Robert Barnes. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Brian Sewell officiating. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery.
