AKRON - Mary D. Silveus, 89, of 3325 Elmore St., Simi Valley, Calif., died Nov. 30, 2010, at Simi Valley Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Cass County, to William and Elizabeth Rudicel Oatess. On June 21, 1966, in Silver Lake, she married Cecil Silveus, who died in September 1996.

She spent most of her life in the Rochester and Silver Lake communities. She moved to California after her husband passed away.

She was a retired RVN and formerly worked at Rochester Nursing Home. She also worked at R.R. Donnelley & Sons, Warsaw. She was a member of Silver Creek Church of God, Silver Lake.

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn (and spouse Carl) Haddox, Castic, Calif., and Mary Elaine Beaty, Simi Valley; a son, Charles (and spouse Isela) Wendler, Las Cruces, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters: Patricia "Patsy" (and spouse Richard) Goshert, Warsaw; Diane (and spouse Bud) Zoleman, Mishawaka; and Peggy (and spouse Bill) Gilger, Woodstock, Ill.; 10 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 2 at Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, officiated by the Rev. Tom Craig of Silver Creek Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Calling is one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
