NORTH WEBSTER – Mary Alta Golightly, 85, North Webster, passed away at 8:20 a.m. May 23, 2015, at her residence.
She was born May 3, 1930, in Redfield, Iowa, to Oran and Lula Devilbliss Clements. On Sept. 26, 1953, in Des Moines, she married John Robert Golightly, who preceded her in death May 28, 1992.
She graduated in 1948 from DeSoto (Iowa) High School. She was a homemaker and retired from HyVee Grocery Store after 15 years of service. She was formerly employed at Bell Telephone, Des Moines; Harvey’s Greenhouse, Adel, Iowa; and was a nurse’s assistant at a nursing home in Adel. She moved to Indiana in 1996 from Desoto.
She was a member of the Bread of Life Church, Goshen, and formerly attended Faith Christian Fellowship, North Webster.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Neal, North Webster; three sons: Mark Robert Golightly, Perry, Iowa; John Thomas (and spouse Joy) Golightly, Richmond, Texas; Timothy Wayne (and spouse Beverly) Golightly, Des Moines; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven sisters: Lula LaVonne, Nellie, Sarah, Ruth, Edith and Beverly; and three brothers: James, Fred and Thomas Clements. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Robin Golightly; a son, Max Golightly; two grandsons; two sisters, Dorothy and Elsie; and a brother, Oran Clements.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carris Family Funeral Home, 1721 Park St., Perry, Iowa. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, DeSota.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster.
