WRIGHTSVILLE, Pa. – Marvin R. Oakley, 80, Lower Windsor Township, formerly of Winona Lake, died Jan. 5, 2016, at Select Specialties Hospital of York.
He was born July 20, 1935, in Flint, Mich., a son of the late Thomas George and Ida Marie Davis Oakley. He was married to Barbara A. Martinson Oakley, who preceded him in death.
He was a 1954 graduate of Big Rapid (Mich.) High School. He also earned an associate’s degree from Grand Rapids Junior College and a bachelor’s degree in electronics servicing from Ferris State University.
He was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from General Electric in 1997. He also was employed by numerous companies throughout the country. He was a member of East Side Bible Church, Wrightsville.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy (and spouse Randy) Dycus, Signal Mountain, Tenn., and Terry (and spouse Timothy) Caldwell, York; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at East Side Bible Church, Wrightsville, Pa., with Pastors Randy W. Panebaker and Tim Brose officiating. A private family burial will be at Canadochly Cemetery.
Calling is from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, York, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.
