Marvin H. Blair, 86, of 4391 Country Club Road, Warsaw, died at 2 p.m. June 24, 2007, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 13, 1920, in Bananza, Ky., to Rex and Dora Whitaker Blair. On June 29, 1948, in Paintsville, Ky., he married Ella Blevens, who survives.

He spent most of his life as a coal miner in Kentucky before moving to Warsaw in 1964. In 1984, he retired from C.M. Perry Inc, Pierceton. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church, Warsaw.

Also surviving are two sons, Roger (and wife Bernadine) Blair and Harold "A.J." Blair, both of Warsaw; four daughters: Mrs. Elijah (Lorene) Freeman, Hager Hill, Ky.; Marvina Austin and Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Miller, both of Warsaw; and Brenda Kries, Claypool; a brother, Elroy (and wife Mary) Blair, West Vanlear, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. Earl (Margie) Robinett, West Vanlear; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parent; two brothers, Morse and Junior Blair; two sisters, Mary Vanhoose and Martha Shell; and a great-granddaughter, Tiffaneé Landrum.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Warsaw Church of God with Pastor Jerry Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
