She was born Oct. 16, 1942, in Paintsville, Ky., to Daniel and Minnie Arms. On April 18, 1992, she married Gayle L. Vandeventer Sr., who preceded her in death, passing away in 2004.
She was a graduate of Mead Memorial High School, Paintsville. She was employed for more than 25 years at Kimble Glass, Warsaw, and after her retirement she worked in the laundry at Regency Place Nursing Home, South Bend. She enjoyed knitting and doing crafts, sewing and scrapbooking, as well as being by the water and sitting by the campfire. She also was a member of the Honda Gold Wing Road Riders Association for many years.
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13.
Surviving are her daughters, Tina (and spouse Jim) Bauer, Warsaw, and Wendy Wear, Mishawaka; stepchildren: Gayle L. (and spouse Cheryl) Vandeventer, Jimtown; David Vandeventer, Chris Vandeventer, Pamela Reed and Bobbi (and spouse Ronald) Woodruff, all of Mishawaka; and Debbie (and spouse Art) Holderman, Elkhart; three grandchildren, Charles Hall and Chad Hall, both of Warsaw, and Jessica Hall, Marion; two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Tyson Sherwood; 12 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; her siblings: Roy Arms, Paintsville; Dorothy Hatton, Winchester, Ky.; and Shirley Walls, Bremen. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Desiree Hall; and three siblings, Howard Arms, Richard Arms and Helen Arms.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Calling is two hours prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
