She was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Union Township, Huntington County, to David Roscoe and Flora Weber Johnson. On Jan. 11, 1941, in Markle, she married Donald T. Burnau, who died Oct. 5, 1993.
She and Don farmed in Huntington and Whitley counties before moving to Warsaw in 1961. She worked at Zimmer Inc. for 16 years in the soft goods department. She was active in retirement, traveling, visiting her grandchildren and participating in several card games every week.
Surviving are three sons: Donovan (and spouse Martha) Grubbs, Dickson Tenn.; Gary (and spouse Marthene) Fullhart, Warsaw; and Jim (and spouse Agnese) LaRue, Yuma, Ariz.; a daughter, Teresa (and spouse David) Evans, Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren: John Burnau, Spartanburg, S.C.; Marianne (and spouse Vince) Moschella, Sarasota Fla.; Liz (and spouse Chris) Wall, Dickson Tenn.; Elizabeth Evans, Alexandria, Va.; Margaret Evans, Pittsford Vt; Madeline Evans, Burlington, Vt.; three great-grandchildren, Feron, Braden and Nathan Wall; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Robinson Johnson, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul Johnson, Huntington, and David “Boag” Johnson, Warsaw; and three sisters: Mary Louise Goble, St. Helen, Mich.; Dorothy Tuggle, Larwill; and Lola Davis, Huntington.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastors Bill Garner and Gary Boschain officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
