He was born April 9, 1962, in Warsaw, to Larry and Asenath Shepherd Oswalt. On Oct. 21, 1998, in Warsaw, he married Debbie Lynn Allen, who survives.
A lifetime resident of Warsaw, he worked at Commercial Structure, Nappanee, for nine years and Ameri-Kan, Warsaw, as a welder and painter for 13 years.
He loved to fish, hunt and raise different kinds of animals, such as pheasants, Boxer dogs, rabbits, emus, a talking parrot, hedgehog and horse. He also loved gardening.
Also surviving are his mother and stepfather, Asenath and Brent Julian, Warsaw; his father and stepmother, Larry and Pauline Oswalt, Hoffman Lake; three sons: Jeffery J. (and spouse Heather) Oswalt, Warsaw; Jeramy Oswalt (and friend Teresa Reese), Toledo, Ohio; and Jason Oswalt, Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter, Stephanie (and spouse Korey) Newton, Warsaw; a stepdaughter, Tamara Sexton (and friend Chris Sabin), Cromwell; a stepson, Scott (and spouse Lisa) Blevins, Mentone; a sister, Lori (and spouse Tracy) Quier, Beaver Dam Lake; a brother, Stephen (and spouse Kathy) Oswalt, Tippecanoe; three stepbrothers, Brian (and spouse Tracy) Julian, Claypool, and Rick (and spouse Tammy) Schuh and Michael (and spouse Charlotte) Schuh, all of Warsaw; a stepsister, Wanda (and spouse Rex) Parrett, Larwill; 13 grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a nephew.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Bob Conelley officiating. Burial will be in Etna Green Cemetery.
Calling is from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
