ROCHESTER - Marjorie Faye Mathias, 85, of 709 Monroe St., Rochester, died at 3:45 p.m. Aug. 7, 2010, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born July 13, 1925, in Kosciusko County, to Robert Glen and Lily Lohor Ault. On Aug. 1, 1948, she married John Mathias, who preceded her in death.

She moved to Rochester in 1943 and made it her home. As a seamstress during the war, she made coveralls for Uncle Sam at Topps. Later she made uniforms for filling stations. At the McGlothins Garment Factory of Peru, she made blouses. In 1959, she was one of the first to be hired at Hart Schaffner & Marx and retired after 31 years of service. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Surviving are four sisters: Katherine Kurtz, South Bend; Laura May Swihart, Akron; Willowdean (and spouse Dan) Allen, North Manchester; and Elsie Elizabeth Bradbelt, Plymouth; three brothers: Franklin (and spouse Sandy) Ault, Rochester; William (and spouse Barb) Ault and John Ault, all of Akron.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with Pastor Butch Troke officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
