NORTH MANCHESTER - Marjorie A. Hettler, 84, formerly of Silver Lake, died at 8:07 p.m. Aug. 2, 2007, at Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, where she resided.

She was born Dec. 3, 1922, in Kosciusko County, to Marshall and Rena Mae Metzger Beigh. On Sept. 23, 1942, she married James E. Hettler, who survives.

She was a 1940 Silver Lake High School graduate. She was a homemaker, beautician and worked at Controls Co., North Manchester. She later was a cook at Silver Lake School and Warsaw Community Schools, retiring after 20 years. She was a member of West Eel Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake, Church Ladies Aid and Silver Lake Lions Club.

Also surviving are two sons, Steven J. Hettler, Warsaw, and James R. Hettler, Claypool; three sisters: Ines Tracy, North Manchester; Mrs. Wayne (Mildred) Swihart, Valparaiso; Mrs. Gene (Marcille) Ranstead, Wabash; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and a grandson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Paul Tinkel officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Calling is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
