ROCHESTER - Marion "Denzel" Price, 97, of 400 W. 4th St., Rochester, died at 4:26 a.m. March 12, 2011, in her residence.

He was born Dec. 27, 1913, in Randolph County, to Earl and Ruth Huffman Price. On Sept. 10, 1933, he married Ruth Ann Fudge, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Lynn High School in 1932 and was a World War II U.S. Navy Sea Bees SC1C veteran, serving as the ship's cook on LST 229 and was honorably discharged Dec. 6, 1945. He worked at a grocery store in Lynn; managed Grey Hound Post Houses; was a food manager at Szabo Food Serving working in hotels; Chrysler Transmission Plant, Kokomo; and various hospitals; ending a career at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester. He was a member of AARP, RSVP and St. John Lutheran Church. He wintered in Weslaco, Texas.

Surviving are a son, Dennis (and spouse Junette) Price, Rochester; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Maj. Retired Robert (and spouse Katie) Price, El Cajon, Calif. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a set of twin siblings.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rochester, with Pastor James Wasmuth officiating. Burial will be in Willow Creek Cemetery, near Fountain City.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
