FORT WAYNE - Margaret Lucille Sprunger Eggers, 95, of Logansport, and formerly of Berne, Fort Wayne, Warsaw and Lafayette, died Feb. 22, 2010, in Chase Rehabilitation Center, Logansport.

She was born July 26, 1914, in Berne, to Jonas and Zilla Gilliom Sprunger. On May 16, 1937, she married Delmar M. Eggers, who died in 1983.

She attended school in Berne. She worked at Prairie View Rest Home and Da-Lite Screen Co., both in Warsaw; The Fashion, Lafayette; and The Golden Rule, Logansport. She also served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader in Warsaw and a volunteer at the Cass County Children's Home, Logansport. She enjoyed working with children, taking long walks in Logansport's Riverside Park and reading, especially biographies of the presidents.

Surviving are three daughters: Carol Zuck, Seal Beach, Calif.; Kathryn Neff, New Carlisle, Ohio; and Rebecca Sadler, Lusby, Md.; a son, Philip Eggers, New York City; three brothers, Freadus Sprunger and Merlin Sprunger, both of Berne, and Verne Sprunger, Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Doris Sprunger, Fort Wayne, and Bernice Sprunger Yager, Berne; 10 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Otis and Lowell Sprunger, both of Berne.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. March 30 at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Sloan and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, is in charge of arrangements.
