WINONA LAKE - Margaret Hartz Ide Maguire, of 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, died at 12:58 p.m. April 6, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born in Palmerton, Pa., to Joseph Abram and Dora Hartz Ide. On Aug. 14, 1948, she married James C. Maguire, who died Jan. 27, 1983.

She was an elementary school music teacher in Allentown and Bethlehem, Pa. Living in Kosciusko County for 15 years, she attended Winona Lake Free Methodist Church. She graduated from Liberty High School, Bethlehem, Pa., in 1929; earned a bachelor's degree in music from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, Pa., in 1933; and earned a master's degree from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, in 1955. She was active in music educator groups and was a member of The Daughters Of the American Colonist.

Surviving are two sons, Peter W. (and spouse Pat) Gano, Warsaw, and Joseph Allan (and spouse Jane) Gano, Naperville, Ill.; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Henry Church officiating, assisted by Chaplain Glenn Byers. A graveside service will be at a later date in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Easton, Pa.

No calling is planned.
