Margaret Gilliam Reafsnyder, 95, of 115 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, died at 9:25 a.m. Oct. 6, 2007, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.

She was born May 8, 1912, in Kosciusko County, to Charles E. and Tressa Horn Gilliam. On July 3, 1937, she married Victor J. Reafsnyder, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from Warsaw High School and attended Indiana University and Ball State, receiving a teaching diploma. She was a grade-school teacher, teaching music, art and home economics in Wayne Township and Terre Haute, retiring to Warsaw in 1969. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw; Salvation Army; AAUW; Delta Theta Tau; Kosciusko Community Hospital Auxiliary; and Indiana University Alumni. She was a past president and a member since 1935 of Clio Reading Club and a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star. She was active in the Red Cross for 11 years and Mobile Meals. She lived in Japan, France and Germany while her husband served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Janet) Kirkpatrick, Warsaw; a son, Charles Reafsnyder (and Faridah Pawan), Bloomington; four grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Kirkpatrick, David Kirkpatrick, Joshua Reafsnyder and Samuel Reafsnyder; and great-grandchildren, Grant and Ryan Kirkpatrick. She was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, with the Rev. David W. Heim officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
