SYRACUSE - Margaret Elizabeth Teghtmeyer, 90, of Grace Village, and formerly of North Webster, died at 4:30 p.m. June 11, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Warsaw, to Edward and Alta Herron Mauzy. On Nov. 26, 1936, she married Earl L. Teghtmeyer, who died in 1966.

A lifetime area resident, in 1978, she retired from Teghtmeyer Ace Hardware that she and her late husband started in 1944. She was a member of North Webster Church of the Brethren; was a 30-year volunteer with the Kosciusko County Chapter of the American Red Cross, where she received a Governors Commendation for volunteerism; and was a charter member of Warsaw Chapter of Altrusa.

Surviving are a son, Larry E. (and spouse Cathy) Teghtmeyer, Tippecanoe Lake; a daughter-in-law, Connie Nestle, Arizona; 10 grandchildren: Nickey Teghtmeyer, Alicia (and spouse Doug) Johnson, Lori (and spouse Jim) Pfieffer, Jennifer (and spouse Josh) Boren, Tammy (and spouse Warren) Hawkins, Adam Suchecki, Angela (and spouse Eric) Irwin, Tricia (and spouse Mike) Welk, Eric (and spouse Laura) Suchecki and Greg Teghtmeyer; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James E. Teghtmeyer, and a sister, Harriet.

Services will be private. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition.

Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse.
