MADISON, Wis. - Marcus Cable and Time Warner Cable have completed their trade of cable television systems, the company announced Monday.

The trade, which took effect Dec. 1, involves approximately 125,000 customers in Wisconsin and Indiana.

Marcus Cable, which will take over Time Warner's customers in the Warsaw area, emphasized that the transfer in ownership would have no effect on customers.

"Basically, it'll be just a change on the door," said general manager Tom Flora. "All of our customers we're going to treat the same - it doesn't matter whose name's out there."

Flora said charges and services will not change, and Marcus will honor Time Warner's commitment to upgrade by 2000.

According to the terms of the agreement, Time Warner will receive approximately 55,000 customers in metropolitan areas, while Marcus Cable will receive approximately 70,000 customers.

Besides its franchises in and around Warsaw, Time Warner traded franchises in or near Wisconsin municipalities, such as Eau Claire, Beloit, Wheaton and Pleasant Valley.

Marcus traded franchises in and around West Allis and DePere, Wis.

Marcus Cable is the nation's 10th largest cable operator, serving more than 1.2 million customers in 18 states.

The change in ownership will affect former customers of Time Warner Cable in Warsaw, Winona Lake, Etna Green and Burket. [[In-content Ad]]
