WABASH - Marcella Ballard, 85, of North Manchester, died at 3:20 a.m. Nov. 18, 2007, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

She was born Nov. 15, 1922, in Fort Wayne, to Torrence and Lucy Thompson Pattee. On Feb. 23, 1943, she married Domer Ballard, who died Sept. 14, 1976.

She was a cook at Miller's Merry Manor and Wabash County Jail for several years. She was a past matron of Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Ballard, Sommerville, S.C., and Charles Ballard, Kissimmee, Fla.; a daughter, Kandi Sleighter, South Whitley; a sister, Virginia Bailey, Marion; four grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, three brothers and three sisters.

No services are planned.

McDonald Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel, Wabash, is in charge of arrangements.
