Many Beliefs Criticized

I would like, first of all, to tell Kaci Slough what a well-written letter she sent to the editor. I wish I could have expressed myself that well at 16. While I am a Christian, I also know what it is like to be ridiculed for my beliefs.

As I stand on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood offices on South Buffalo Street, protesting abortion, it doesn't take long to come to the realization that if you believe strongly in something, there will be someone ready to ridicule you. (Sometimes even throw things at you.)

Since you have some first-hand experience with persecution for your beliefs, I would like you to take note of a documentary that debuts this weekend, April 18, in several theaters in Fort Wayne. The name of the film is "Expelled." It concerns a number of areas where people are losing tenure, promotions and their jobs if they even mention their beliefs. From what I understand, it is the largest national showing of any documentary. I'm looking forward to it. I would be very interested in your thoughts after seeing the movie. If you (or anyone) would like more information on it, you can stop by Tokens 'N' Tickets. They have some information available, or you can go to www.expelledthemovie.com as well.

Again, thank you for taking the time to express yourself in such a well thought-out letter.
