Mantey Attends Flight Academy

Chief Master Sgt. Antonio Harveto Mantey, of the Civil Air Patrol, Indiana Unit 217, and also a junior at Warsaw Community High School, attended Johnson Flight Academy in Charleston, Ill., at the Eastern Illinois University the week of June 4-12.

There were 85 students divided into three classes: Balloon, Glider and Power. Power, being the airplanes, held 20 students. Mantey was one of six pilots out of the 20 students to earn his wings for solo flights.

Mantey intends to advance his military flight training. His future career plans are to attend Cadet Officers School in Maxwell, Ala., next year.

He is the son of Ronald and Bertha Mantey.[[In-content Ad]]
