The school board of finance also reappointed its officers in a session following the regular meeting.
Brian Schilling, school board president and its representative on the park board for about five years, stepped down Tuesday. School board member Glenn Sharfman volunteered to be the new park representative.
Schilling said he wanted to stay on long enough to oversee the completion of the Strauss Peabody Aquatic and Fitness Center, a $7 million project that opened its doors late last month.
Before Sharfman volunteered, Schilling suggested approaching the town about changing its park board RULES to accept a school board appointee as its fifth member, rather than a school board member.
The other four members of the park board are appointed by the city. Schilling observed that they must have decided it was important to have the school's input.
During the finance board meeting, Lee Diefenbaugh was reappointed board president and Steve Flack secretary.[[In-content Ad]]
