Manchester Police Probe Homicide

NORTH MANCHESTER -ÊA man who was found dead at a residence on South Mill Street in North Manchester is believed to be the victim of a homicide.

Leodegario M. Rodriguez, 30, was found dead at 301 S. Mill St., North Manchester, around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Results of an autopsy performed Wednesday determined that Rodriguez's death was the result of foul play.

The murder, North Manchester's first since 1989, remains under investigation by the North Manchester Police Department and the Indiana State Police.

Police refused to release any further information about the crime.

Anyone with information relating to the investigation of the crime is encouraged to call North Manchester Police Chief David Young at 260-982-8555 or Indiana State Police Det. Sgt. Tim Miller at 800-382-0689.

Fair Parade Steps Off Sunday

Sunday's 4-H and Community Fair parade starts at 4 p.m.

The lineup begins in Winona Lake at the Rodeheaver Auditorium parking lot area.

The parade features two announcement stands - one in Winona Lake and one at the fairgrounds grandstand. The route weaves down Park Avenue and turns west onto King's Highway, which becomes East Smith Street in Warsaw. The route ends at the fairgrounds grandstand.

This year the parade theme is "A Timeless Tradition." Lineup is at 3 p.m. with judging beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Awards will be presented at the Winona Lake announcement stand.

Other grandstand events at the fair include:

The Bear Foot Monster Truck Show is 7 p.m. Monday. Tickets are $14 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-12 and children 5 years old and younger are free. Advance tickets are available until Sunday and can be purchased at the fair office. Advance ticket prices are $12 for adults, $7 for children ages 6-12 and children 5 years old and younger are free.

Tuesday, the antique tractor games begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

The demolition derby is Wednesday at 7 p.m. Derby entries will be taken until the start of the event. Entrants must have a $20 check-in fee. There is a $10 mechanics pit fee. Minors under 18 years old must apply in advance and enclose a notarized release form. Admission to the demolition derby is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12 and children 5 years old and younger are free.

NTPA Super Semi Nationals is Thursday through July 23. Pulls start at 7 p.m. each day.

- Thursday - The super farm tractors, two-wheel drive trucks and stock pick-ups (6,500 pounds) compete.

- July 22 -- Super farm tractors, two-wheel drive trucks and NTPA sanctioned 8,000-pounds diesel pickups compete.

- July 23 - The super semis and stock semis compete.

Also July 23 is the 10th anniversary Semi Show and Shine. Registration for the event ends at noon on Saturday and the cost to register is $30.

Recording artist and songwriter Joey Holiday will perform for two days. Holiday performs for driving audiences nationwide. Joining him this year is T.C. Bush.

Single-day admission is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12 and children 5 years old and younger are free.
