Manchester Crunches '07-'08 Budget Numbers

After reviewing the information presented by Business Manager Steve Shumaker last week, the Manchester School Board unanimously approved a motion to give permission to advertise the 2007-08 budget.
The proposed general fund totals $10,368,100, and the debt service fund is proposed at $1,925,666. Capital projects totals $1,825,000; the transportation fund is $737,000; and the bus replacement fund equals $308,000. Special education preschool fund is $62,000, and the retirement/severance bond debt service fund totals $218,495.
The budget information will be printed twice in local newspapers, and then a public hearing on the budget will be Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Maple Park Education Center.
In other business, the board:
n Approved the hiring of Carey Adamiec, Cathy Rupley and Traci Wilcox as cooks at Manchester Junior-Senior High School; Heather Boggs as seventh-grade volleyball coach at MJSHS; Scott Scalbaum as volunteer assistant cross country coach at MJSHS; and Carrie Clothier as part-time physical education teacher at Laketon Elementary School.
n Accepted the resignation of Darla Eberly as seventh- and eighth-grade cheerleading coach at MJSHS.
n Reviewed the current board goals, then discussed and approved them.
Manchester School Board members are Sally Krouse, president; Todd Speicher; Jan Fahs; Brian Schilling; Steve Lambert; Kent Terrill; and Steve Flack. Superintendent is Dr. Diana Showalter. Flack was absent from Tuesday's meeting.[[In-content Ad]]
