Man Thrown from Car during Chase

Warsaw police were involved in a pursuit Monday night and are looking for a vehicle that was involved in a drug transaction on the north side of Warsaw.

At approximately 9:18 p.m., Warsaw police attempted to stop a black Lexus passenger car near the north city limits on Ind. 15 when the vehicle fled northbound. Warsaw police pursued the vehicle northbound on Ind. 15 as the Lexus reached speeds of 140 mph.

As the Lexus traveled north of Leesburg, the occupants began throwing unknown articles out of the vehicle. Then as the vehicle neared Milford, it turned west on CR 1000N and a male passenger was ejected from the vehicle.

The vehicle continued west and then south on Pinkerton Road when police lost sight of the Lexus and terminated the pursuit.

The ejected passenger was semi-conscious at the scene and transported to Parkview Hospital by Samaritan Helicopter in serious condition.

A statement at the scene from the ejected passenger indicated that a drug transaction did occur when the driver fled upon seeing police and then threatened to kill him while displaying a handgun.

Warsaw police are looking for a black Lexus passenger car with possible passenger-side rear quarter panel or bumper damage with a temporary Indiana license plate of C999867.

Police believe the driver of the Lexus to be a Brandon Adkins, 27, possibly of Warsaw.

Warsaw police have not identified a female passenger who was also present in the car.

The identity of the ejected passenger will not be released due to the threats and confidential nature of the incident.
