ROCHESTER - Maleta Ellen Barkman Borden, 89, of 2761 N. Ind. 25, Rochester, died at 8:53 a.m. Feb. 23, 2009, in Life Care Center of Rochester.

She was born May 13, 1919, in Fulton County, to Mondo and Beulah Russell Barkman. On May 30, 1941, in Logansport, she married Charles Arthur Borden, who preceded her in death.

A lifetime Fulton County resident, she was a 1937 Talma High School graduate and beautician for 68 years.

Surviving are a son, Donald (and spouse Patricia) Borden, Rochester; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; four step-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (and spouse Martha) Peterson, Rochester. She was preceded in death by a brother and her stepfather.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Revs. Phil Pratt and Junior Bose officiating. Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
