BOURBON – Malcolm B. “Buddy” Shearer, 85, Warsaw, and formerly of Bourbon, passed away at 1:15 p.m. July 24, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, Warsaw.
He was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Mishawaka, to William Sr. and Sarah Penrod Shearer.
He was a resident of this area all his life. He was highly educated. He was a graduate of Bourbon High School with the class of 1947. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University and a master’s degree from University of Tennessee.
He worked at the South Bend Missile Plant manufacturing speciality missiles for the Navy, and he retired from Biomet in 1992. He was a United States veteran, serving in the Korean War with the Air Force. He was a member of Bourbon American Legion Post 424.
Survivors are: his brother, Douglas P. Shearer, Warsaw; two nieces, Vickie Shearer and Cheryl (and spouse Jim) Holderman, all of Warsaw; and a nephew, Mike (and spouse Susan) Shearer, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Shearer Jr.
There will be no visitation or services at this time. A memorial graveside service will be at a later date.
Deaton Clemens Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
