Mad As Hell

Editor, Times-Union:

Today, I lost my job. I had been employed in the RV industry and became another casualty of the incompetent, corrupt, broken system that is our government. Gone along with my job is my health care and the security of a steady paycheck. I am now faced with a future of insecurity and uncertainty as I am sole-supporting. Health care is now nothing but a memory since I cannot afford it on unemployment.

I am not just bitter and frustrated, I'm mad as hell. If some one rational occupied the White House they should take a page from the book of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and nationalize the oil companies. Prices should be regulated so as not to cripple the economy at the present level. Tax breaks to these parasites should also be eliminated.

On the second day, someone rational should end the fiasco in Iraq that has drained the treasury and plunged the country in debt to China. The $2.5 billion weekly savings could be utilized for a massive jobs program, health care and elimination of our dependence on foreign oil.

On the third day, all tax breaks that go to companies for outsourcing our jobs should end.

On the fourth day, tax loopholes that allow corporations to avoid paying taxes by setting up an address somewhere in the Cayman Islands should be closed. I have always had to pay taxes and I'm sick of subsidizing their avarice.

On the fifth day, all lobbyists should be given an ultimatum to either leave town within 24 hours or face incarceration. It is past time for the government to serve the people they represent.

This country can be fixed, but politicians lack the will to take the bold initiatives to do so. Instead, they tip-toe around the issues, wring their hands and insult us with inane happy talk.

For now, we are stuck with an invertebrate congress and a delusional imbecile in the White House that can't accomplish anything worthwhile.

For you values voters that are obsessed with the morals of others that put this idiot in the White House, can you explain to me the morality of 47 million and one people that can't go to a doctor, 35 million hungry people, and a once-thriving society and country that is now morally and financially bankrupt?

Editor, Times-Union: Democrats have a long history of supporting lawlessness and they have the nerve to say no one is above the law. At times they act like spoiled children that expect to get their way all the time even if they have been naughty.
