Mad Anthony Brewing Co. Tapping Into Warsaw Locale

Scooby snacks, Cajun popcorn, shroomos and the Lagasse pizza all will be making their appearances soon in downtown Warsaw.
After an Aug. 1 acquisition of 113 E. Center St., Warsaw, Mad Anthony Brewing Company of Fort Wayne plans to construct a new restaurant and bar to bring their style of cuisine and brewing to the area.
According to Mad Anthony owner Blaine Stuckey, the restaurant could open its doors anytime between December and January. Construction recently began on the building's ground level to create a restaurant style atmosphere, and the two upper floors will be rented out as office space.
"I'm really excited to get the ball rolling on everything," Stuckey said. "Warsaw is a great community, and, after looking at the city for a long time now, it's the kind of place we want to be involved with."
The restaurant plans on incorporating family-style dining, as well as a bar area and 100-person private party room. Though Mad Anthony beer will not be brewed at the Warsaw location, Stuckey says the option is open for future consideration.
"For now, I'm excited to see how people will enjoy our food, because it really is the key to the restaurant," Stuckey said. "We have a huge variety of pastas, deli sandwiches and salads. It's not just your run-of-the-mill food, we're very proud of our menu."
The Mad Anthony Brewing company began in 1995 when Stuckey and beer master Todd Grantham purchased the Munchie Emporium in Fort Wayne. After finding success in the business, the partnership began the Mad Anthony Tap Room in Auburn, keeping their menu and beer selections the same as the original location.
Now Warsaw will host the third installment of the Mad Anthony establishment. Stuckey plans to style the restaurant much like his others by placing what he calls "eclectic antiques" on the walls to create a comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
"We'll have street signs and unique items all over the place. We usually receive local pieces from people to put in the pub," Stuckey said. "What's always neat is when someone gives us a picture that really means something special to them, and they offer to let us hang it inside."
Along with the unique decor, Stuckey plans to provide a weekly schedule of bands to entertain his customers. Acoustic shows and open mic nights were said to be a possibility.
"I want to create a fun atmosphere. I love having fun, and I love meeting new people. It's all part of enjoying this business," Stuckey said.
Mad Anthony also will cater to the Warsaw area, providing a full menu to parties both on and off premises. In the past, the company has catered to as many as 2,500 people and as small a group as 40.
When asked what food first-time customers should try, Stuckey needed little time to answer.
"Try the Scotch eggs. They're absolutely incredible." [[In-content Ad]]
