Jim and Kathy MacDonald, Warsaw, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Ann MacDonald, Woodridge Ill., to Spencer Cole Ackers, Seattle, Wash. He is the son of Jennifer and Stephen Ackers, Portland, Ore.

The bride-to-be is a registered nurse in the intensive care unit in Hinsdale, Ill. She graduated from Northfield High School, Wabash, in 2003, and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Purdue University in May 2007.

The groom-elect is a mechanical engineer for Boeing, Seattle. He graduated from Clackamas High School, Portland, in 2001, and graduated from Purdue University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in May 2005, and a master's degree in mechanical engineering in August 2007.

The couple plan a Sept. 4, 2011, wedding.

Warsaw City Council Continues Discussion On Downtown Parking Changes
A soft rollout of the new downtown Warsaw parking technology and ordinances could come as early as August, with the official rollout in the fall.
