Lyle J. Gephart, 84, longtime Bourbon resident, passed away Sept 3, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend after a recent illness. Gephart was born May 2, 1931 at Seward, Ohio to Roy N. and Mabel Ruth Evers Gephart. He has been a resident of Bourbon since 1958. He was a graduate of Lyons High School Lyons, Ohio in 1949. On June 30, 1951 he married Pearl Geraldine “Jerri” Mills at Seward, Ohio. Gephart was a salesman for Hahn Systems, selling Senco products to RV and trailer factories throughout the area. He retired in 1999. He and his wife enjoyed their winters in The Villages in Florida for 10 years. He was an avid golfer and was always up for a game, he was a hard worker remodeling several homes in the area; he loved to dance and he enjoyed visiting with people. He enjoyed his family who will greatly miss him. They also attended the Country Church, Bourbon. Surviving are: his wife along with their two sons Bruce (and spouse Terri) Gephart, Bourbon, and Bradley (and spouse Lisa) Gephart, Tucson, AZ. He was also blessed with seven grandchildren: Melissa (and spouse Seth) Ray; Nathan (and spouse Bobbie) Gephart; Emily (and spouse Ryan) Sutter; Joshua Gephart; Grant Gephart; Blake Gephart and Travis Gephart, along with nine great grandchildren and his brother, Larry (and spouse Paulette) Gephart, LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gary, a sister, Lucille Humphies and a brother, Leon Gephart. The family will receive friends on Sept. 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Country Church, State Road 331 N. Bourbon, Indiana 46504. Funeral services will be Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. in the Church with Pastor David Gould officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
