SYRACUSE – Luvica F. “Vicie” Moore, 73, of Syracuse/Ligonier, died at 12:05 p.m. Jan. 17, 2012, in her granddaughter’s home in Wawaka.

She was born Nov. 28, 1938, in Rock Fork, Ky., to Benjamin and Cora Bolen Combs.

She attended Garrett (Ky.) Public Schools and moved to the Ligonier area 40 years ago from Kentucky. She retired from Syndicate Store Fixtures, Middlebury, after 18 years, and was a member of New Freedom Baptist Church, LaGrange.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Bennett, Goshen; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three stepsons: Farris Ray Moore, Tampa, Fla.; Billy Joe Moore, Ligonier; and Chester (and spouse Diane) Moore, Marion; and a sister, Sarah (and spouse Forrest) Moore, Ligonier. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson; four sisters; and seven brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Fredom Baptist Church, LaGrange, with the Rev. Wade Sturdivant officiating. Burial will be in Orange Township Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at the church.
