He was born April 17, 1927, in Nappanee, to Elmer Kuhn and Hesther Grosvenor Kuhn. On Aug. 21, 1949, he married Phyllis Berkey, who survives.
A resident of Bourbon most of his life, he graduated from Bourbon High School in 1945 and retired from Triton School Corp. as a janitor and bus driver for more than 40 years. He formerly owned Kuhn’s Sonoco gas station, Bourbon. He was a faithful member of Bourbon First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1945-47 during World War II.
Also surviving are a daughter, Brenda (and spouse Steve) Brink, Nappanee; two sons, Dennis (and spouse Tammy) Kuhn, Bourbon, and Larry (and spouse Honey) Kuhn, Mentone; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Fisher, Bourbon, and Sharon (and spouse Jim) Cumberland, Glasgow, Ky.; and a brother, Don (and spouse Jane) Kuhn, Etna Green. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Prater; two sisters, Eleanor Gottschalk and Helen Baker; and two brothers, Devon and Gerald Kuhn.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bourbon First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon, with graveside military services by member of Bourbon American Legion.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon.
