NORTH WEBSTER – Lula M. Scholle, 89, North Webster, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Oct. 7, 2014, in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
She was born May 13, 1925, in Lafayette, to Manfred L. and Minnie Reynolds Gipson. On June 23, 1944, she married Wilbur D. “Bill” Scholle, who preceded her in death May 7, 2006.
She graduated from Brookston (Ind.) High School. She was a homemaker and former office manager and financial secretary at a mental health center, Fort Wayne. She lived in Indiana until she and her husband moved from Warsaw to Bradenton/Sarasota, Fla., in 1982. She then returned to the North Webster area in 2002.
She was a member of the First Covenant Church in Bradenton, and attended North Webster United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Kama (and spouse Tim) Strombeck, North Webster; a step-granddaughter, Nikki (and spouse Randy) Trusty, Waverly, Ohio; two step-great-grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a step-grandson, Kyle Smith; and a brother, Robert Gipson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, with Pastor Brad Cox, Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, officiating.
A celebration of life fellowship time will follow from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Post 253, 756 S. Ind. 13, North Webster.
