She was formerly of the Milford , Akron and Mentone areas.
She was born April 3, 1918, in Etna Green, to William and Ruth Jones Stutzman. She first married Wade Whetstone, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 2, 1946, in Akron, she married Wilvin Teel, who preceded her in death Nov. 11, 2012.
She operated Lucille’s Beauty Shop in Mentone and at their farmhouse south of Mentone, retiring after 44 years. She was a graduate of Etna Green High School as valedictorian in 1936 and received her beauticians training in Fort Wayne. She loved gardening, cooking and her family dearly.
Surviving are a daughter, Luana (and spouse Ted) Myers, Indianapolis; a son; Jim Teel, Rock Island, Ill.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Burnett, Warsaw; and one brother, Arden Stutzman, Nappanee. She was preceded in death by two sons, Denny Teel and Bill (and spouse Susan) Whetstone; two sisters, Carol Rogers Simon and Helen Hall; and a brother, Ivo Stutzman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Burial is in Mentone Cemetery.
Calling will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
