SYRACUSE – Lucille E. Searfoss, 93, of Syracuse, died at 9:20 a.m.  April 10, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.
She was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Syracuse, to Ross W. and Esther C. Tiedt Osborn. On June 1, 1941, in Syracuse, she married Robert T. “Bob” Searfoss, who died in 1994.
A lifetime Syracuse area resident, she graduated from Syracuse High School in 1937 and from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and home economics in 1941. She retired in 1977 from Wawasee Community School Corp. as a physical education teacher in North Webster after eight and a half years.
She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Syracuse, where she helped with the Thrift Shop and was a member of the Mothers Club since 1942.
Surviving are four daughters: Sherry (and spouse Tony) Norris, Gig Harbor, Wash.; Jane Stockinger, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Sally (and spouse Ronald) Hanson, Carmel; and Debra (and spouse Dwight) Hughes, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son, R.T. (and spouse Paula) Searfoss, Syracuse; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson, a great-granddaughter and two brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Syracuse, with the Rev. Mark Eastway officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse.
