Louise Maxine Ayres Plummer, 92, died at 12:15 p.m. June 24, 2016, in Miller’s Merry Manor Assisted Living, Warsaw.
She was born May 24, 1924, in Sidney, to Edward and Ruth Metzger Ayres. On Aug. 3, 1947, in Silver Lake, she married Robert Plummer, who preceded her in death Jan. 29, 2009.
She is a 1942 graduate of Sidney High School where she was the valedictorian. She also attended Fort Wayne Business College.
She was a lifetime Atwood resident. She was a legal secretary for Brubaker, Rockhill & Lee LLP, Warsaw.
She was an active member of Otterbein United Methodist Church where she was the church historian and a member of its United Methodist Women. She devoted all of her time to friends of the Atwood community and especially to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Genyce DiRico, Winona Lake; two sons, Kevin A. Plummer, Fort Wayne, and Randall L. (and spouse Sandra) Plummer, Fort Wayne; two grandsons, Robert DiRico, Oak Park, Ill., and Adam Plummer, Fort Wayne; four great-grandchildren: Alexandria, Andrea, Daniela and Lucas DiRico, all of Oak Park, Ill.; step-granddaughter, Laura Hinton, Fort Wayne; step-great-grandson, Porter Hinton, at home; a sister, Isabelle Deafenbaugh, Bradenton, Fla.; and two brothers, Bill Ayres, Tipton, and Arden (and spouse Mary Elizabeth) Ayres, North Manchester. She also was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Eraldo “Eddie” DiRico, who died July 6, 2015; three sisters, Ruby Montel, Mary Tridle and Edna Maloy; and a brother, Dick Sellers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, with Pastor Jim Lawson, Otterbein United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church.
