NAPPANEE - Louis D. Curtis, 77, of 5983 E. CR 250S, Bringhurst, died of a sudden illness at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 1, 2008, in St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.

He was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Pierceton, to Alonzo and Orlue Atchinson Curtis. On Dec. 9, 1962, in Mishawaka, he married Orvaline Crain, who survives.

He lived in Nappanee from 1972 to 2002, moving to Bringhurst. A retired cabinet maker and minister, he worked at Coppes Kitchens, Nappanee. He was minister and a member of Assemblies of God Church and ministered at Church of God, Marian, and Bremen Assembly of God. He was a Korean War U.S. Air Force veteran.

Also surviving are three sons: Barry (and spouse Ruth) Curtis, South Bend; Jim (and spouse Amanda) Curtis, Goshen; and Mike (and spouse Jeanelle) Curtis, Douglasville, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy (and spouse Bill) Alley and Marge (and spouse Merle) Hostetler, all of Pierceton. He was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Barry Curtis officiating, assisted by the Rev. Steve Cole. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery with a military graveside service.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.[[In-content Ad]]
