ROCHESTER - Lois Ruth Hauser, 87, of 5004 Hawthorne Way, Avon, and formerly of Akron, died at 6:58 p.m. May 5, 2008, in St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis.

She was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Cass County, to Elmer and Mary Hester Fergeson Miller. On Jan. 3, 1942, in Logansport, she married Charles Edward Hauser, who died Jan. 27, 1992.

She lived most of her life in Akron and was a 1939 Grass Creek High School graduate. She worked at Controls, North Manchester, for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Akron Church of God, the Goldenaires and The Order of the Eastern Star, Akron.

Surviving are a daughter, Susie McGuire, Avon; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul (and spouse Nada) Miller, Jeffersonville, and Don (and spouse Patsy) Miller, Frosbite, Fla. She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
