NORTH MANCHESTER – Lois Jane Singleton, 86, of North Manchester, died at 11:55 p.m. April 7, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Windfall, to Darrell and Wilma Smith Clouser. On Nov. 4, 1947, she married Arnold K. Singleton, who died Nov. 13, 1986.

She formerly worked at Peabody Retirement Community and Heckman Bindrey, both at North Manchester,  and General Electric and A.F. Billings Flowers & Gifts, both at Wabash. After retirement she was busy as a homemaker. She attended North Manchester United Methodist Church.

Surviving are four daughters: Patricia (and spouse Steve) Angel, Plymouth; Connie (and spouse Michael) Sherer, Topeka, Kan.; Janice (and spouse Paul) Nichols, North Manchester; and Nancy Singleton, Wabash; a brother, Clifford Clouser, Fort Myers, Fla.; two sisters,  Helen (and spouse Glen) Dodson, Kokomo, and Ruth (and spouse Jack) Boyer, North Webster; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with the Rev. Kevin DeKoninck officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
