NORTH MANCHESTER - Lois Eileen Geible, 84, of North Manchester, died at 9:15 p.m. June 9, 2007, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born Aug. 28, 1922, in North Manchester, to Robert W. and Bertha E. Johnson Fulton. On June 17, 1945, she married the Rev. Merrell D. Geible, who died May 31, 1998.

She was a secretary and bookkeeper at Indiana Lawrence Bank, North Manchester; a bookkeeper at Manchester College; a secretary to the superintendent at Lakeland Community Schools (now Wawasee Community Schools), Syracuse; secretary and bookkeeper at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, Lafayette; and served as secretary for the district superintendent for the Logansport district of the United Methodist Church. She was a member of North Manchester United Methodist Church; PEO; North Manchester Historical Society; United Methodist Women's; Saints Alive Choir, North Manchester United Methodist Church; and Peabody Entertainers at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. She graduated from Central High School, North Manchester, in 1940, and attended the University of Indianapolis.

Surviving are two sons, David Geible, Lander, Wyo., and Norman Geible, Avon; three daughters: Mrs. Dennis (Elizabeth) Shoemaker, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Katherine Geible, Wabash; and Rebecca Geible, Roanoke; a brother, Blaine Fulton, Berne; four grandchildren; a step-grandchild; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a step-grandchild.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at North Manchester United Methodist Church with Pastors David Overmyer and Larry Ray officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 2 to 5 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester.
