Locals Earn Burger King® Scholarships

MIAMI, Fla. - The Have It Your Way Foundation announced it has awarded $1.2 million scholarships to a total of 1,092 students nationwide as part of the 10th annual Burger King® Scholars Program.

Among the winners are six area high school seniors who received $1,000 scholarship awards in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement, along with other academic and community involvement criteria.[[In-content Ad]]Earning those scholarships were: Michael Klem, NorthWood High School, Nappanee; Jessica Schmuck, NorthWood, Nappanee; Joscelyne Johnson, NorthWood, Nappanee, $1,000 Burger King Employee Scholars Award; Roxanne Schrock, Wawasee High School, Syracuse; Kalli Volkert, Warsaw Community High School; and Matthew Swafford, WCHS, $1,000 Burger King® Employee Scholars Award.

Receiving the Burger King® Employee Scholars Award were student employees selected based on their academic achievements, financial need and community involvement. In addition, they must have worked for the company for at least one year.
