Local Retailer Hosts Charity Event
July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
A special charity evening will be held at Warsaw's Elder-Beerman store Oct. 22, from 6 to 10 p.m., to benefit all Warsaw area nonprofit organizations.
Tickets can be purchased through participating nonprofit organizations, said Cathy Ott, area sales manager for ready-to-wear women's apparel. The organizations selling the tickets get to keep all proceeds. None of the money goes to Elder-Beerman. The organization that has the greatest participation will receive an additional check for $250 from Elder-Beerman, said Ott.
"It's going to be a real fun evening," she said.
No one will be permitted without a ticket and customers may shop and enjoy local entertainment. The event will feature special discounts, refreshments, a register-to-win $500 shopping spree or a 1-carat diamond heart pendant.
Ott said local entertainment will include the Dancing Grannies, Class Act Dance Troupe, Brasswind Quintet and three young people from the community: Mark Howard, Allison Davis and Ryan Dill. The Warsaw Community High School Cheerleaders agreed to gift wrap.
The Elder-Beerman chain has been doing this charity event for five years and this is the first year it has come to Warsaw.
Ott said Elder-Beerman wanted to give something back to the community because the community supports Elder-Beerman so well. The store supports many nonprofit organizations.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased through the following nonprofit organizations: Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Combined Community Services, Education for Conflict Resolution, Heartland Pregnancy Center, Kosciusko Community YMCA, Kosciusko County Youth Shelter, Kosciusko County Literacy volunteers, Kosciusko County Home Care and Hospice, Kosciusko County District Boy Scouts, Mental Health Association, Tri Kappa, United Way of Kosciusko County, Warsaw Lions Club, Warsaw Rotary Club and Warsaw Community High School cheerleaders.
Tickets may also be purchased at the door during the event. [[In-content Ad]]
